Mr. Brian Rix, actor and learning disabilities campaign has died at 92, said a Mencap charity spokesman.
Mr Rix - the President of the Mencap charity of learning disability - was terminally ill and passionate for Parliament to change the law on euthanasia campaign.
He had previously opposed such a law, but said that his illness had left him in pain and constant discomfort and left him "like a beached whale."
Last week he revealed: "I just want to go" as he showed that he was bedridden and unable to sleep.
He said: "I am for two months to die or more, and that is a very, very long time."

Early in his life he was a well known actor of theater and cinema.
