Chester is a next-generation nursing home open to people with learning difficulties.
The Arc, or Abbey Respite Center Abbey Square, will be responsible for Special Needs Care Ltd and Cheshire West and Chester Council .
It offers private and day care for people with special educational needs and behaviors, including autism and challenging behavior.
The Adult Social Welfare Team has worked with Special Needs Care Ltd and Chester Cathedral to develop a service that meets the needs of residents and identifies those who will benefit.
Council member Paul Dolan , a member of the Adult Care Commission that opened the center, said, "The bow will provide a break for families, friends and caregivers of people with special needs, long-term care or in times of crisis and special difficulties.
"The launch of Arc is an example of what can be achieved if the Board and its partners work together for the benefit of the community and provide services that help the needy.
"We have developed a close partnership with the supplier to ensure that the book meets people's needs, and the advice is to identify the right people to benefit from this service by leveraging their adult care experience."
The arch is housed in an 18th century listed building next to Chester Cathedral , which has been renovated and designed for people with special needs and autism.
Arc activities include creative arts, music therapy, information technology, cooking and motivational support. It has a multi-sensory space: it is a relaxing and sensory environment with peaceful sounds and lights.
