Summary
Learning difficulties have a deep and lasting effects on health. Affected children born for 1 year in the US generates an estimated lifetime cost of $ 51,200,000,000th The results of some studies have suggested that autism spectrum disorder on the season of birth may vary, but there were only a few studies in which researchers examined whether this for other causes of interference and is true learning. It was in Scotland connects student data (era) and motherhood (Scottish Morbidity Record 02) 801 592 children conducted databases participating in unique Scottish schools in 2006-2011. We model the monthly fees with large transformation sine and cosine of the number of months and cyclicality in the proportion of children have been detected with special educational needs. Rates were higher among children conceived during the first quarter (January to March) and lowest among those conceived in the third (July to September) (8.9% vs 7.6%, p <0.001). Seasonal variations are specific for diseases of the spectrum of autism, mental retardation and learning difficulties (dyslexia) and were absent sensory impairments or motor / physical and mental, physical or communication. Seasonality accounted for 11.4% (95% confidence interval: 9.0, 13.7) of all cases. Some biologically plausible cause of this variation, such as infections and vitamin D levels are potentially modifiable maternal response.
