In a move that cost relates to students from Colorado State University, he gave his assistance service learning program.

The program is used is free of cost - students were able to get a diagnosis as a benefit that is paid by tuition.

However, now students will pay with this change a sliding fee - based on the result - for the diagnosis. The fee is charged by a lawyer on the first date, based on the financial documentation of students.

Rhondda Walker Hosting and promotion of specific resources for students with disabilities, he said for a single diagnosis not estimated costs or cost area has.

Previously, he was listed as a program Counseling Services, asked the service learning aid or LAS, preliminary diagnostic tests available for students who have experienced learning difficulties, concentration, attention and visual perception.

If students have been diagnosed with a disability who applies for students with disabilities to resources to help themselves. Otherwise, they were on the resources referred further to help you.

The program struggling students after diagnosis also benefits through advice and provides educational resources for students in areas such as reading, notes and time management.

Under this amendment to the requests for students to be filtered through resources with disabilities who then refer the student to the Centre for Psychological Services for the diagnosis. After this process, the means for the needs of individual students will be sufficient.

Although a large part of the resources available to students are the same, looking for the initial cost of the aid in the diagnosis, students can affect seek help.

"Now is a low cost, which is a shame," Walker said, "Because I think there will still be students who do not choose to follow through because they do not have the finances."

The change was in an e - mail confirming obtained by The Collegian on September 1.

Email sent by his Recruiters Senior Staff Psychologist Dr. Cindy Swindell, said the change was necessary to cope with for the department with the growing demand for services.

"Counseling Services overwhelmed by the mental health needs of our students, no matter what we try to meet the demand," Swindell wrote in the email. "... While the LAS-type services are our students is very important, it is time for another agency to offer."

In an e-mail to the director of consulting Dr. Susan MacQuiddy, it displays one perspective, why the change was proposed.

"The use of the counseling center has increased annually over the past five years, about 10 percent," MacQuiddy wrote.

Even with the demand, he noted that the resources are available to help students. Child care to students 24/7, on campus and available by phone after hours. MacQuiddy said no pupils consultancy activities rejected.

Other services are still available for the students, they include the Institute for Learning and Teaching and counseling and student performance.

"We want students who are struggling with mental health problems and stress in order to succeed at the CSU and access our services", MacQuiddy wrote. "By getting to refocus exclusively on mental health issues, we publish additional time to meet the mental health needs of students."

Rhondda Walker, accommodation and defense specialist resources for students with disabilities, spoke about how the change will affect students.

"Of course there is the cost," Walker said. "But it will always be affordable for a student to use this service instead of going outside the school to a private diagnostician."
